Used during the finishing stage of production — the roll is applied by hand or machine to smooth mold lines, seams, and surface irregularities on the green or bisque body. Coarser grades (40/60 MSH) handle initial leveling, while finer grades (80/100 MSH) refine the surface before glazing.
