Double Lock Batts
Double Lock Batts are Cordierite Mullite kiln shelves featuring an interlocking profile on both edges, engineered for maximum stability when stacked in kiln setters. Manufactured by Imerys (Spain), the double-lock design keys adjoining batts together on either side, virtually eliminating shifting and misalignment through repeated, demanding firing cycles.

Used where kiln loads require the highest degree of stacking stability — the double-lock edges key into batts on both sides simultaneously, keeping sanitary ware and tableware pieces securely aligned across dense, high-volume firing setups and repeated thermal cycles.
Used as the primary flat firing surface within the kiln, supporting ceramic sanitary ware and tableware pieces during the firing process — providing a stable, even base that withstands cycle after cycle of extreme heat.
